Dear Sarah,

I hope you and the family are doing well! As you know, my application for permanent residency under the Federal Skilled Worker Program was approved last month, and I am planning my landing in Canada for early August. It is all happening so fast, and I am both incredibly excited and a bit overwhelmed.

Since you have been living in Vancouver for over five years now, I was hoping to get some advice from you. Specifically, I am trying to decide whether I should rent an apartment in the downtown core or look for something in the suburbs like Burnaby or Richmond. My office will be located in downtown Vancouver, near the waterfront, and I will be working as a software analyst. I don't plan on buying a car immediately to keep my initial relocation expenses low, so public transit accessibility is a major factor for me.

Also, could you recommend the best way to search for temporary accommodation for my first two weeks? I want to have a base to stay while I view long-term rentals in person.
