Terms of Service

Welcome to CLBMaster. By accessing or using our website, Android application, Teacher & Coach Portal, or related services, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using CLBMaster, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to all of these Terms, do not use our services. We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time and will update the "Last reviewed" date above when changes take effect.

2. Unified Accounts & Use of Services

CLBMaster provides a single unified account that allows you to use both our Student Study Platform (for preparing for your CELPIP exam) and our Teacher & Coach Portal (for educators, tutors, and immigration language coaches supporting students). Any registered user can practice as a student, coach connected students as a teacher, or both from the same account. You must provide accurate information when registering and are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

3. Teacher & Coach Portal, Connections & Student Data Sharing

CLBMaster allows learners and educators to link their accounts through mutual invitation and consent (invitations expire after 7 days if not accepted):

• Student Consent & Shared Data: Access to a student's progress is authorized strictly per active connection. When you invite a teacher/coach from your Account Settings or accept a teacher's invitation to connect, you explicitly consent to share your registered email address, target CLB goals, practice history, mock test attempts, written responses, speaking audio recordings, transcripts, and AI evaluation feedback with that connected teacher for educational and coaching purposes.
• Revoking Access: Students retain full control over their connections and may revoke a teacher's access at any time from their Account Settings. Upon revocation, the teacher can no longer view the student's profile, submissions, or progress.
• Educator Responsibilities & CASL Compliance: Users sending student invitations from the Teacher Portal represent and warrant that they have obtained prior consent or have an existing educational or business relationship (in compliance with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) and applicable privacy laws) before sending email invitations to prospective or current students.
• On-Behalf Submissions & Coaching Reviews: When a connected teacher submits a written response or audio recording on behalf of a student for AI evaluation, the teacher warrants that they have the student's authorization to upload and process that content. Teachers may also provide custom CLB score adjustments and coaching comments, which are displayed alongside AI feedback for instructional guidance only.
• Custom Tasks & Content License: Educators retain ownership of custom Writing and Speaking prompts and instructional notes they create in the Teacher Portal, and grant CLBMaster a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, and process such content to deliver assignments and AI evaluations to connected students. Educators warrant that their custom materials do not infringe third-party intellectual property rights, including proprietary exam materials owned by Paragon Testing Enterprises.

4. AI Evaluation, Automated Decision-Making & Official Exam Disclaimer

CLBMaster uses artificial intelligence and large language models to evaluate writing essays and speaking voice recordings, generate transcripts, and estimate Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) levels.

• Educational Estimates Only: AI-generated CLB scores, rubric breakdowns, script refinements, and teacher coaching scores are educational estimates designed to help you practice. They do not constitute official language proficiency certification.
• No Immigration or Legal Guarantee: We cannot guarantee that your official CELPIP score will match the scores generated on CLBMaster, nor does CLBMaster provide regulated Canadian immigration advice. Official scores for Canadian permanent residency, Express Entry, citizenship, or professional licensing are determined solely by accredited testing administrators and Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

CELPIP® is a registered trademark of Prometric / Paragon Testing Enterprises. CLBMaster is an independent preparation platform and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Paragon Testing Enterprises or IRCC.

5. Intellectual Property

Except for user-submitted responses and teacher-authored custom prompts, all content, features, and functionality on CLBMaster—including mock tests, practice exercises, platform design, software, and grading rubrics—are the exclusive property of CLBMaster and are protected by Canadian and international copyright and intellectual property laws.

6. Data Retention, Practice History Limits & Inactive Accounts

To protect user privacy and manage cloud storage responsibly in accordance with Canadian data retention principles:

• Rolling Practice History Limit: CLBMaster retains up to your 50 most recent module attempts per skill (Reading, Listening, Writing, and Speaking). Older attempts and their associated audio recordings beyond the 50-attempt limit per skill are automatically pruned.
• Inactivity Notice: If your account has not recorded any login or practice activity for 6 months (180 days), we will send warning notifications to your registered email address (at 30 days and 10 days before scheduled deletion).
• Grace Period & Permanent Purge: You will have a 30-day grace period to keep your account active by clicking the keep-alive link in the notification email or logging in. If no action is taken by the expiration deadline, your account, practice history, AI evaluation feedback, and stored audio recordings will be permanently and irreversibly deleted. You may also delete your account immediately at any time from your Account Settings.

7. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Canada and the applicable provincial laws therein, without regard to conflict of law principles.
